Senior duo in line for Rangers recalls against Celtic - BBC

By Danny Wright

Pedro Caixinha could recall Wes Foderingham and Kenny Miller to his starting line-up when Rangers taken on Celtic at Ibrox on Saturday, according to a report.

BBC Sport claims that the senior duo are likely to come back into the fold having been rested in the League Cup win at Partick Thistle on Tuesday.

The report says that Danny Wilson and Lee Wallace are definitely out of the fixture with injury while Bruno Alves and Declan John are fighting for fitness with Ross McCrorie ready to make his way into the side if the Portuguese centre-back misses out.

Miller, 37, is no stranger to the Old Firm derby having played on both sides of the Glasgow divide during his long career.

The striker has been ever-present in Caixinha’s first-team plans this season, especially in the Premiership where he has started all six fixtures despite failing to score.

Foderingham, 26, looks set to be making his first appearance for Rangers since he agreed to extend his contract until 2020 earlier this week.

It is understood that he is in line to replace Jak Alnwick in goals after being dropped to the bench for the extra-time win at Firhill on Tuesday

The English goalkeeper, like Miller, has been Caixinha’s No 1 choice in his position this season and has featured in every Premiership fixture.

He has made eight appearances across all competitions, conceding 10 goals and keeping two clean sheets in the process.

Rangers can move within two points of Celtic if they can upset the odds and get a win at Ibrox on Saturday.
