Serie A side Hellas Verona have entered negotiations with Tottenham over a deal for left-wing speed machine Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, according to a report.
Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has wrote for his website that the Italian outfit are interested in bringing in the 22-year-old on loan with club director Filippo Fusco said to be currently working with Spurs to complete a deal.
N’Koudou completed a move to Tottenham from Marseille just last summer for a fee worth £11million.
However, the youngster failed to make an impact in his debut season in England and the former France Under-21 international played just 17 times in all competitions, returning one assist.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino may now be willing to let him go out on loan in order to gain an extended run in a side’s first team with N’Koudou failing to make each of Tottenham’s first two Premier League match squads.
The young French ace still has four years remaining on his contract in north London.
Football Insider verdict:
N’Koudou can still become a good player and many have spoken highly of his rapid pace. However, for whatever reason he is simply not favoured by Pochettino at Tottenham and a loan move away from the club could now be for the best as he still has time to become a better player. There is no questioning that the winger has some highly desirable qualities given his pace and now he just needs the football ability to match, which could come with an extended run of first team football, which is also unlikely to come at Spurs. Therefore, this temporary move away would suit all parties.
