Tottenham expect talks to develop over the next 24 hours for Argentine starlet Juan Foyth over the next 24 hours, according to a report.
The Daily Mail have claimed via their transfer blog (Tuesday 1.45pm) that the 19-year-old centre-back has been left out of Estudiantes’ travelling squad for their clash on Wednesday with a move to north London looming.
Spurs have long been linked with a move for the teenage defensive prospect this summer despite also agreeing a contract with Ajax’s Davinson Sanchez as manager Mauricio Pochettino looks to build for the future.
Fouth has already made six appearances for the Argentine top-flight club in total at his young age and if he does make the switch to Tottenham then he will be hoping to continue his progression under one of his country’s greats in Pochettino.
Spurs have invested heavily in young up and coming players in recent years and the north Londoners will be looking for Foyth to follow in the footsteps of Eric Dier and Dele Alli.

Football Insider verdict:
Tottenham have earmarked Foyth as a target this summer and like Georges Kevin-N’Koudou last summer it has proven to be a long-winded saga. However, it now looks as though Spurs are closing in on a deal for the centre-back and if he does sign then he could prove a good acquisition in both the short and long-term for the club. This signing doesn’t necessarily excite fans like a big name addition would do, but if Foyth does make the move to north London the supporters will surely keep a close eye on his development.
