Bologna have added Nottingham Forest star Pajtim Kasami to their shortlist after contact with his agent, according to a report.
Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on his website that Bologna have contacted super agent Mino Raiola over the potential recruitment of some of his clients, which includes Kasami.
The 24-year-old, who is currently on loan at Forest from Olympiakos, joins a three-man list of Raiola’s players which also include Lazio’s Ricardo Kishna and Napoli’s Omar El Kaddouri.
Versatile Switzerland international Kasami has struggled to hit the expectations of Forest fans this season, scoring just once in 25 league and cup encounters.
Sitting in a lowly 20th position in the Championship, Kasami could now cancel his loan at the City Ground in order to avoid a relegation dog fight and chance his arm with Bologna.
Roberto Donadoni’s side currently sit in 15th and 13 points clear of the bottom three in Italy’s top tier, as they look to bolster their midfield.
With Serie A experience from a year at Palermo in 2010-11, Kasami could prove pivotal in seeing Bologna rise into the top half of the table during the second half of the season.
Football Insider verdict:
Henri Lansbury’s impending move to Championship rivals Aston Villa means Kasami’s role in the Forest side has grown even more important. Without Lansbury’s goalscoring exploits from midfield, the two-time European champions need to do everything they can to keep the former Fulham ace with at Forest and hope he can provide the relegation candidates with an attacking bite from deep. However, Kasami could be tempted to jump ship after a disappointing start to life with Forest. A move could get the best out of Kasami, with the Serie A’s slower tempo likely to suit his ability to dictate the pace of a match in the middle of the park.
