Adam Reach was dropped to the bench for Sheffield Wednesday’s Friday evening clash with Birmingham – and fans of the Yorkshire club have agreed with the decision on Twitter.
The 24-year-old midfielder played the full 90 minutes in last week’s 1-0 victory over Wigan at the DW Stadium.
However, many felt that he under performed, which some fans have suggested had become a regular theme for the young midfielder.
Fellow left sided player and winter signing Morgan Fox came into the team for Reach with Fernando Forestieri dropping into the left-wing position.
Fans on social media were very supportive of the Carlos Carvalhal’s decision with many stating that they felt like he needed a rest after a number of poor displays.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Good starting line-up that. Think Winnall & Rhodes has potential, Reach needed a rest and will be impactful off the bench. #swfc

Reach made the switch to Wednesday in the summer for an undisclosed fee from Premier League side Middlesbrough.
He has played in 25 appearances for the club this season scoring one goal and providing three assists.
Fans will now be hoping for a positive reaction from the player after being dropped as they look to pick up all three points against Gianfranco Zola’s team.
In other Sheffield Wednesday news, fans also reacted to this attacking duo in the line-up.
