Simon Mignolet hails Philippe Coutinho after Liverpool win v Leicester
By Harvey Byrne
Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has hailed Liverpool teammate attacker Philippe Coutinho after Saturday evening’s victory over Leicester.
The Reds got revenge after suffering defeat against the Foxes in midweek after the EFL Cup loss with goals from Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson cancelling out efforts from Shinji Okazaki and Jamie Vardy at the King Power stadium.
Mignolet himself saved a penalty from Vardy on the 73rd minute and pulled off some impressive stops over the 90 minutes.
However, it was attacker Coutinho who the modest goalkeeper picked out for specific praise after the match, stating “he can always produce some magic.”
“He can always produce some magic,” told Mignolet, as quoted by the official Liverpool website.

“I was right behind the free-kick and the moment it left his boot I knew it was going to go in.
“He does that a lot in training and luckily it paid off again today.”
Coutinho himself has only just returned back into the Liverpool team after missing the opening matches due to reported interest from European giants Barcelona.
He is a big part of the current Reds team and fans will now be hoping he can make a return to previous form with his first goal for the club in the 2017-18 campaign.
Liverpool have a busy week coming up with a trip to Russia to face Spartak Moscow in the Champions League before then facing Newcastle at St. James’ Park next Sunday in the Premier League.
