Sky Sports pundit and former Premier League defender Danny Higginbotham believes Alexis Sanchez would be the only Arsenal player able to get into the current Tottenham team.
The two north London clubs have been competing at the top end of the Premier League table for a number of years now, with Arsenal often coming out on top.
However, this season has been a completely different story and with the campaign reaching it’s closing stages Spurs are a huge 14 points ahead of the Gunners with Mauricio Pochettino’s team in second, while Arsene Wenger’s side sit way down in sixth.
Tottenham also have a number of stars in their team who onlookers see as among the best in the Premier League, including Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Kyle Walker and Higginbotham has told how the only Arsenal player who would get in the Spurs squad is Sanchez and even then it may be hard to fit him in.
“The only player that you could probably say on form at the moment, or what they’ve shown this season that could get into that Tottenham team is Sanchez,” told Higginbotham to Premier League Daily on Sky Sports News on Friday morning.
“I don’t think there’s very much argument against that. That’s not saying that Arsenal haven’t got players that on their day are capable of getting into Tottenham’s team, but I just think Tottenham’s players are all performing at their maximum.
“They are all playing fantastically well. They’re still improving all the time, so therefore for me Sanchez is the only one you may possibly look at who can get into that Tottenham team, but who would you leave out of the front three of Tottenham?”
Tottenham fans will undoubtedly be delighted by these comparisons with the Spurs support keen to finally get one over their rivals.
However, the fan base will also be eager to see their side do the talking on pitch and the two rivals are set to meet at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
In other Tottenham news, this is the astonishing position Spurs are in following Mark Lawrenson’s predictions.
