Noel Whelan urged Leeds United to sign attacker Jack Harrison after it was reported that Manchester City want only £8million for him.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the ex-Leeds attacker claimed £8million is an absolute snip for a player of Harrison’s quality.

It was recently reported that Man City were willing to part with Harrison on a permanent basis for £8million and it was suggested the Whites would be willing to sign him if they win promotion to the Premier League.

Whelan explained that he thought the 23-year-old winger had really shown what he can do at Elland Road this season after only showing glimpses of his ability in the 2018/19 campaign.

When asked if Leeds should sign Harrison for £8million, Whelan told Football Insider: “Yeah if that’s the case snap their hands off.

“£8million is an absolute snip as he’s really shown the Leeds fans and himself, what a commodity he can be and what a great player he is.

“And if that’s the case, it’s only £8million, I’d take him the whole day long especially in this market as it’s next to nothing.

“He’s only going to get better, he’s shown this season what he can do, we were getting bits out of him last season, but this season we’re getting more out of him.

“He’s more settled, he’s getting more involved in the game, but yeah look I’d take him all day long.”

Harrison has scored five goals and registered six assists for Leeds this season across the 29 appearances he has made so far.

The English winger has never featured for Manchester City’s first-team and aside from having two loan spells at Leeds, he also had a brief stint with Middlesbrough.
