Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe is telling his club he wants to join Celtic after they submitted an offer for him, Football Insider has learned.
The Scottish treble winners have held preliminary talks with the Premier League club about signing the 23-year-old before the window shuts next Monday.
A Bournemouth source has told Football Insider that Ibe is keen to reignite his career with a move to Celtic after slipping down the pecking order under Eddie Howe.
The Glasgow giants do not have the cash to sign Ibe, who joined from Liverpool for £15million in the summer of 2016, permanently.
But they have already tabled an offer to take the Englishman on a season-long loan and are willing to pay a significant portion of his £40,000-a-week salary to make the deal happen.
Ibe has been given just 22 minutes of senior action this season and is behind Ryan Fraser, on-loan Harry Wilson and the injured David Brooks in the race for the wide attacking positions at the Vitality Stadium.
Howe has concerns about sanctioning the exit of Ibe due to Brooks’ ankle injury, but he is expected to be back fit at the end of October.
Capped four times by England at Under-21 level, Ibe has accumulated 117 appearances in the Premier League for Bournemouth and Liverpool, which have yielded four goals and 10 assists.
