Sources: £5m bid accepted for 22-yr-old Leeds forward target

Club Brugge have had a £5million bid accepted by QPR for Leeds United target Bright Osayi-Samuel, Football Insider understands.

The Londoners have agreed a fee with the Belgian club and are ready to grant permission for the forward, 22, to discuss personal terms.

A QPR source has told Football Insider the club are willing to cash in on Osayi-Samuel as he has entered the final 12 months of his contract.

This comes after Football Insider revealed in May that QPR had rejected a £3m bid from Brugge for the wide forward.

Osayi-Samuel’s other suitors Leeds United and Southampton, who expressed their interest during the January window, are now set to miss out on him.

QPR knocked back enquiries for Osayi-Samuel earlier in the year and triggered an option to extend his contract by 12 months in February.

But with his contract expiring in 2021 and no indication of him agreeing a new deal, he is now set for a surprise move to Belgium.

Club Brugge will compete in the Champions League next season after being declared Belgian champions in early April when the country’s professional league season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Brugge had a runaway 15-point lead at the top of the standings with one round of matches left to play.

Osayi-Samuel has had an outstanding season for Rangers after establishing himself as a key member of Mark Warburton’s side.

The ex-Blackpool star has scored six goals and provided nine assists from 39 matches in all competitions.

In other Leeds United news, Bruce has been left gutted by a “big kick in the teeth” for the Whites.
