Arsenal youngster Emile Smith Rowe is set for a medical at Huddersfield Town ahead of a loan move to the Championship club, Football Insider understands.

Huddersfield have agreed a deal to take the highly-rated 19-year-old attacker on loan until the end of the season.

A source at Arsenal has told Football Insider that the Gunners are willing to let Smith Rowe go out on loan this month so that he can get regular first-team football under his belt.

Smith Rowe was on the bench for Mikel Arteta’s first two games in charge of the Gunners against Bournemouth and Chelsea, but he has not made the matchday squads for the last two games against Manchester United and Leeds United.

The talented teenager is down the pecking order in Arteta’s plans, although the new manager is a big admirer, and the club feel he would be best served to go out on loan for the second half of the season.

Smith Rowe had a spell out on loan with RB Leipzig in the second half of last season, but he made only three appearances during his time at the German club.
