Sources: Aston Villa make move for Everton wonderkid Thierry Small
Aston Villa have registered their interest in signing Everton sensation Thierry Small, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The left-back, 16, has been targeted by elite Premier League and European clubs amid growing doubts over his Goodison Park future.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Villa have joined the race to prise left-back Small from Everton this summer.
The teenage sensation, who became Everton’s youngest-ever played when he made his debut in January, is wanted by Arsenal and Man United as well as Bayern Munich.
Villa could have one major advantage in the race as Small hails from the Midlands and he was on West Brom’s books until the age of 11.
His uncle Bryan also played for Villa for six years after graduating from their youth ranks.

Dean Smith’s side have been actively pursuing top homegrown talent this summer and recently agreed the signing of Tim Iroegbunam from West Brom for a six-figure fee.
Other elite clubs will also be wary of Villa’s ambition and financial firepower, backed by the cash of billionaire owners Wes Edens and Naseef Sawiris.
It comes as Everton try to secure Small to a professional contract for when he turns 17 on 1 August.
The Merseysiders have tabled an offer to the youngster, who has hit the headlines this week for training alone away from the club.
Small has yet to return to training with Everton, although they remain in contact with him and are hopeful he will stay.
