Sources: Big update on Arsenal bid to sign Maddison as Leicester respond to new swap deal offer
Leicester City have knocked back a new Arsenal players-plus-cash bid for James Maddison, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Gunners have offered the Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles as part of a new package as they try to lure the Foxes playmaker this month.
But a Leicester source has told Football Insider the club have no interest in the players Arsenal have offered in part-exchange.
Arsenal have upped their interest in Maddison, 24, this week after making him a top target to add creativity to their team.
Leicester value their star man at more than £70million, which makes a deal difficult to agree.
Arsenal have suggested a number of players in part-exchange and the latest makeweights are attacker Nelson and versatile midfielder Maitland-Niles.

Both players are available for transfer this summer as Mikel Arteta continues to reshape his squad.
Maddison has been targeted for his proven Premier League pedigree as well as ability to create chances from tight spaces.
It remains to be seen if he will look to engineer an exit ahead of the 31 August cut-off in the same way as Harry Kane has done at Tottenham.
He has flourished during his three years at the King Power Stadium and was a key player in the side that won last season’s FA Cup.
Maddison’s 118 Leicester games have yielded 27 goals and 20 assists.
That included 11 goals and 10 assists from 42 matches in all competition last season, when Leicester also finished fifth in the Premier League.
