Sources: Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough race to sign Aberdeen star Hedges
Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough are chasing Aberdeen attacker Ryan Hedges, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Championship duo are fighting it out to sign the forward on a permanent deal.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Boro and Rovers have both registered the interest in Hedges as the race hots up.
The 26-year-old has just 12 months left to run on his Dons contract.
He has scored 13 times and provided 12 assists in 66 games across all competitions for Aberdeen.
That includes four goals and two assists in 11 European competitions.

However, the Wales international missed the opening game of the Scottish Premiership season at the weekend with an injury.
Blackburn Rovers are yet to add to the squad that finished 15th in the Championship last season.
Their transfer embargo was lifted in July but Tony Mowbray is yet to make a move in the market.
They begin their season with a home game against Hedges‘ former club Swansea City at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough have been significantly busier in the window as Neil Warnock looks to build on their 10th-place finish.
He has added five senior players to his squad that finished 13 points behind the play-off places.
Warnock has looked to bolster his attacking ranks as Boro struggled for goals last term.
Duncan Watmore ended the campaign as the club’s top goalscorer with six strikes in 22 Championship games.
They have already added Uche Ikpeazu from Wycombe and Hedges could provide the striker with the opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net.
In other news, Middlesbrough have agreed to hire Scott from Norwich City.
