Borussia Dortmund are very interested in signing Odsonne Edouard from Celtic this summer, Football Insider has learned.

The Bundesliga big guns are in the market for a new striker amid major doubts over the future of star man Erling Haaland.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Dortmund want to beat the Premier League teams to Edouard’s signature and are lining up a big-money move.

West Ham have emerged into pole position to land the striker after this site revealed last Wednesday (14th April) that they are laying the groundwork for a deal in the upcoming window.

There is also strong interest from Arsenal, while previous favourites Leicester City are having second thoughts over a deal following the renaissance of Kelechi Iheanacho.

The English big hitters will be wary of the interest in Edouard from Dortmund, who have the financial power and ambition to blow them out of the water.

The French striker’s former Hoops teammate Jeremie Frimpong headed to Germany in January when he joined Bayern Leverkusen for around £11million.

It will cost a similar fee to prise Edouard from Parkhead.

He was valued last year at £40million by Celtic on the back of a sensational campaign in which he won the Scottish player of the year award.

But his price tag has subsequently plummeted and, with his contract expiring next year, there are fears he could leave for as low as £8-10million.

Edouard has an impressive record from his four seasons at Celtic, where his 164 appearances have yielded 81 goals and 37 assists.
