Sources: Bournemouth in advanced talks to sign £8m starlet Rogers from Man City

Bournemouth are in advanced talks to sign Man City winger Morgan Rogers, Football Insider has learned.

The Premier League champions have given the green light to the 19-year-old leaving ahead of the 31 August cut-off.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Bournemouth are close to finalising a loan deal for Rogers although it could also include a permanent option.

He signed for City in 2019 from West Brom in a deal worth around £8million.

The winger spent the second half of last season on loan at Lincoln and shone in League One.

Six goals in 28 games followed as he won the EFL Young Player of the Month award in March.

Rogers played every minute of the Imps play-off campaign which ended in defeat against Blackpool at Wembley.

He has also represented England at various youth levels.

Bournemouth are still looking to replace versatile attacker Sam Surridge.

He left the club to join Stoke City earlier this summer and have also been chasing another Man City youngster.

On 5th August, this site revealed the Cherries had entered the race to sign Liam Delap.

They faced a battle with Stoke over the transfer but any deal is now on hold after the player picked up an injury.

Scott Parker’s side have not struggled for goals so far this season, scoring two in each of their three league games.

However, most of the goals have come from the midfield with Dominic Solanke only netting his first of the season last night against Birmingham.
