Bristol City are eyeing a shock move to bring Bobby Reid back to the club from Cardiff City, Football Insider understands.

Bristol City are looking at other striker targets as they prepare for the possibility of losing out to Leeds United for Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah and Reid figures on their wanted list.

Reid left Bristol City to join Cardiff last summer following their promotion to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old struggled to hold down a regular place in the Cardiff side last season, making 29 appearances and scoring five goals.

Reid impressed in his last season at Bristol City, scoring 19 goals to earn him a place in the EFL's Championship team of the year for 2017/18.

Now, a source close to Bristol City has told Football Insider that the club wants to bring him back.

It remains to be seen if Cardiff would consider letting Reid leave as they look to mount a bid for promotion back to the Premier League.
