Chelsea are considering terminating Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's contract at Stamford Bridge, sources have told Football Insider.

The 33-year-old is no longer considered in Graham Potter's plans, and the Blues boss considers it best for all parties if the Gabonese striker leaves at the end of the season.

Aubameyang has one year remaining on his deal, but Chelsea want his £300,000-per-week wages off the books immediately to increase their summer budget.

Chelsea signed Aubameyang from Barcelona for £10million in the summer under Thomas Tuchel, but he has significantly slipped down the pecking order since the appointment of Graham Potter.

Potter omitted Aubameyang from Chelsea's Champions League squad in February to free up space for new signings that arrived in January.

Aubameyang featured in all six of Chelsea's European matches in the group stages but was forced to sit out of their last 16 clash against Borussia Dortmund this month.

He has also made just 12 appearances in the Premier League this season, including just seven minutes of action since the start of February during the 2-0 loss to Tottenham.

Despite his lack of game time, Aubameyang has scored three goals for Chelsea this season and assisted once.

It is understood that Aubemayang is keen to end his stay at Chelsea and is happy to mutually agree to end his contract at the club.

He has been unhappy with his role under Potter and is keen to move on in the summer to a team willing to hand him more first-team action.
