Sources: Chelsea plotting to sign goal sensation with same agent as Joao Felix

Chelsea are eyeing a summer move for red-hot Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos, sources have told Football Insider.

Those with knowledge of the Blues’ situation have revealed that the 21-year-old is viewed as an alternative to Victor Osimhen – with Napoli prepared to hold out for around £105million for his services.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (4 April) that Man United are plotting a summer deal for Ramos in case they fail in their pursuit of Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

It is believed that Benfica will accept a bid of around £70million for Ramos – despite him having a release clause of £105million in his contract with the Portuguese giants.

Ramos’ stock has risen after sensational a 2022-23 campaign which has seen him notch 25 goals and 10 assists across 37 appearances.

The striker is represented by Gestifute – the same agency taking care of on-loan Chelsea star Joao Felix.

Ramos has also announced himself on the international stage after scoring a hattrick in Portugal’s Round of 16 clash with Switzerland at the World Cup in Qatar last year (2022).

The 6ft 1in star is an out-and-out striker, something desperately lacking in this Chelsea squad as they languish in 11th place this term.

Their lack of potency was laid bare during the 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Tuesday (4 April) – with Kai Havertz and Joao Felix squandering a number of gilt-edged chances in front of goal.

Football Insider revealed on 24 March that Chelsea are planning to terminate the contract of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.

Sources have also told this site (22 March) that the Blues are planning to let Romelu Lukaku depart the club at an enormous loss despite his Premier League pedigree.

The Stamford Bridge club are without a permanent manager following the recent sacking of Graham Potter.
