Sources: Coventry City in advanced talks to hire AFC Wimbledon's Jamie Johnson
Coventry City are set to bring in AFC Wimbledon head of recruitment Jamie Johnson in a reshuffle of the club’s backroom team, sources have told Football Insider.
The Sky Blues are in advanced talks to appoint Johnson to help fill the void left by the departures of head of recruitment Chris Badlan and chief scout Stuart Benthom to Blackpool last month.
Coventry brought in former Tottenham and Crystal Palace defender Dean Austin in December as their head of recruitment.
But the 52-year-old is now set to become director of football at the Championship club with Johnson working alongside him as head of recruitment.
Johnson boasts a wealth of experience having worked with the likes of Tottenham, Millwall, Derby and Brighton in various recruitment roles.
Upon the appointment of Austin, Mark Robbins told the club site he was delighted with the hire, saying, “Dean brings a wealth of experience across football to the Club in what will be an important role for us both in the short-term”.

Coventry were busy in January, bringing four senior players to the club.
Former Preston man Sean Maguire joined the club on a free transfer while Brooke Norton-Cuffey Josh Wilson-Esbrand and Luke McNally arrived on loan from Arsenal, Man City and Burnley respectively.
Coventry sit 13th in League One but are only five points off the playoff faces.
They are next in action against high-flying West Brom on Friday night (3 February).
