Sources: Critical update on West Ham bid for Johnstone as Moyes plan revealed
West Ham have offered West Brom £11million for Sam Johnstone after making him their number one choice this summer, Football Insider has learned.
The Londoners have made moves for multiple keepers with talks also held over a potential deal for Paris Saint-Germain’s Alphonse Areola.
A West Ham source has told Football Insider that Johnstone is Moyes’ top choice to bring in before next month’s transfer deadline.
The manager is a big admirer of Johnstone’s communication skills as well as the face he is proven in the Premier League.
But Moyes prefers to have up to three main targets for each position in case deals fall through.
West Ham are not at this stage close to signing a keeper and are willing to bide their time to get a deal at the right price.

Both Johnstone and Areola are believed to be keen to make the move to the London Stadium.
It has been suggested that West Brom want £20m for Johnstone but Football Insider has learned a deal can be done for considerably less.
Discussions have taken place with PSG over a loan-to-buy deal for Areola, who has slipped down the pecking order after the signing last week of Gianluigi Donnarumma
West Ham are in the market for a proven goalkeeper who can provide cover and competition for established number one Lukasz Fabianski.
The Irons have yet to sign a senior player in this summer’s window.
There have been three arrivals so far – youngsters Pierre Ekwah Elimby, Thierry Nevers and Armstrong Oko-Flex – but they are not expected to challenge for the senior squad.
