Sources: Downes set to undergo Swansea City medical in Nottingham Forest blow
Flynn Downes is set to undergo a Swansea City medical as he completes a move from Ipswich Town, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Championship club have beaten a host of rivals to land the midfielder with Nottingham Forest among the clubs to lose out.
A Swansea source has told Football Insider that Downes is booked in for a medical after they had a bid accepted by Ipswich.
He is severing his ties at Portman Road with a year remaining on his contract.
This site revealed on 12th June that Paul Cook has given the green light for Downes to leave for the right offer this summer and broke the news on Saturday (7th August) that an agreement had been reached with Ipswich.
The Ipswich academy graduate already has 99 first-team appearances under his belt.

Downes featured in 24 League One games, including 17 starts, last season and even captained the side on occasion as Town finished in ninth-position.
The versatile midfielder became the club’s youngest-ever captain when he led his side out for an FA Cup tie against Coventry in 2019.
He submitted a transfer request last September after Ipswich turned down bids from Premier League outfit Crystal Palace.
In an interview with the East Anglian Daily Times in January, he insisted he had “no regrets” as he backed himself to perform at a higher level.
