Everton are plotting a move to sign Lyon winger Bertrand Traore after making him one of their main attacking targets, Football Insider understands.
The Merseysiders are keen to recruit a versatile attacker who can play in any of the forward positions, especially on the right flank.
An Everton source has told Football Insider that the club are ready to submit a £25million bid for Traore following his improvement since signing from Chelsea two years ago.
Traore has emerged as a priority target because he is a left footer comfortable operating on the right foot and cutting inside to create and score goals like Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale.
The Burkina Faso international scored 11 goals and supplied five assists from 48 appearances in all competitions for Lyon in the recently completed season.
Aged 23, Everton believe Traore has potential for considerable improvement and can develop under manager Marco Silva into a potent Premier League player.
He is a potential long-term replacement for Theo Walcott, who was the first choice right-winger for most of 2018-19 but had a mixed season and has not consistently produced since signing from Arsenal in January 2018.
