Sources: Ipswich Town agree to sign Chaplin from Barnsley
Ipswich Town have agreed to sign Barnsley attacker Conor Chaplin, Football Insider has learned.
The League One big spenders are finalising a permanent deal for the 24-year-old as they continue their major summer rebuild.
An Ipswich source has told Football Insider that there has been a breakthrough in talks to prise Chapin from Barnsley.
All parties are confident a deal can now be completed in the coming days.
Chaplin made 35 Championship appearances last season as Barnsley finished fifth in the league.
31 of those outings were from the start as he chipped in with four goals and three assists.

He now looks set to follow boss Valerien Ismaell out the door after he left to take over at West Brom.
Chaplin can play on either wing and as an out and out striker if called upon, adding versatility to the Ipswich attack.
The attacker has plenty of League One experience, making 57 appearances in the competition for Coventry and Portsmouth.
Chaplin becomes the latest new arrival at Portman Road with the squad facing an overhaul this summer.
Yesterday (26th July), this site revealed Rangers defender George Edmundson will travel to Ipswich to undergo a medical.
He was loaned to Derby County last January after picking up a lengthy ban for breaking COVID rules and attending a party.
The defender has taken part in the Gers’ pre-season preparations meaning he should be fit and ready for the rapidly approaching season.
Chaplin leaves Barnsley after making 86 appearances for the club.
