Sources: Juventus could accept Tottenham offer for Samuel Iling-Junior
Juventus could be open to selling Tottenham target Samuel Iling-Junior in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Turin giants remain in a precarious financial situation following their Serie A points deduction and could be forced to part with the 20-year-old if the right offer arrives.
It is believed Juve will hold out for an “attractive” bid for Iling-Junior, who has been identified as a top target for Spurs.
However, the England Under-21 international is only under contract until June 2025 – which is another factor that may play into Tottenham’s hands.
Football Insider revealed the Lilywhites’ interest in Iling-Junior on Friday (17 November).
Sources have also told Football Insider (18 November) that the 20-year-old is one of three attacking options Spurs are considering ahead of January following a wave of injuries.
Manager Ange Postecoglou wants to add another wide attacker to his squad after long-term injuries to Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic – and recent groin surgery for Richarlison.
Iling-Junior has made four appearances in Serie A this term, notching one assist – and has turned out 22 times in total for Juventus.
The England Under-21 international came through the ranks at Chelsea before moving to Juventus in 2020 – and Spurs are now hoping to persuade him to return to his homeland.
He penned his last contract extension in December 2022 but will have just 12 months remaining on that deal at the end of this season.
Spurs are going well in the Premier League and sit fourth after 12 top-flight games.
However, recent injuries to the likes of James Maddison and Micky van de Ven look to have put a serious dent in their campaign – with Postecoglou’s side slipping to back-to-back losses against Chelsea and Wolves in their absence.
