Harry Kane has made it clear to friends that he wants to quit Tottenham this summer, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Spurs talisman's future is up in the air as he turns 28 in July and has publicly suggested he will decide his plans after the Euros.

A Tottenham source told Football Insider that Kane has been more emphatic behind the scenes in conversations to those close to him.

He has questioned the club's ambition and fears the team is treading water at a critical point in his career.

The source explained that Kane is "100 per cent thinking of moving on" and is ready to do so.

The possibility of Tottenham winning the League Cup against Man City this month, which would be the first trophy of his career, is very unlikely to change his mind.

The Spurs star man has been careful in his public pronouncements to keep the supporters who idolise him on side.

He does not want to go public with his intentions, and that is unlikely to change before he goes away with England this summer.

The prospect of Kane leaving Spurs will send shockwaves through the club's fanbase, given his status as the club's outstanding player and the team's over-reliance on his talents.

It remains to be seen if any club is willing to meet the asking price that Tottenham will demand for their star man.

He has three years remaining on his contract and only a small group of elite clubs would be able to afford the £125million-plus valuation.

Tottenham are sixth in the league, three points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea.

They will face Pep Guardiola's high-flying City in the League Cup final at Wembley on 25 April.
