Sources: Lincoln City agree to sign Swansea City star Cullen

Lincoln City have agreed a deal to sign Swansea City forward Liam Cullen, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Welsh club are happy to loan out the 22-year-old as he is well down the pecking order in Russell Martin’s plans.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that League One Lincoln have moved quickly to tie up a deal for the forward for the second half of the season.

They have beaten multiple EFL sides who had registered their interest in landing Cullen.

The Wales Under-21 international remains under contract at Swansea until the summer of 2024.

He was a regular in the Swansea side at the beginning of the season but has managed just three substitute appearances in the Championship since the middle of October.

He has registered one assist in 14 games across all competitions this season, including four league starts.

Cullen did start the 3-2 loss to Southampton in the FA Cup at the weekend but was taken off before it went to extra time.

Upon completing his move he will link up with fellow Swansea forward Morgan Whittaker at Lincoln.

Whittaker moved to Sincil Bank on loan at the beginning of the month and scored on his debut in the 2-0 win over Oxford United at the weekend.

Michael Appleton’s side are just two points above the League One relegation places although they have a game in hand over the five teams below them.

That takes place tonight (11 January) when they travel to the high-flying Sunderland.

In other news, Swansea City are finalising a signing after a seven-figure bid is accepted and the medical is underway.
