Rhian Brewster is set to join Swansea City on loan after featuring for Liverpool against Everton this weekend, Football Insider understands.

The 19-year-old striker is heading to the Championship club after Jurgen Klopp gave the green light for him to depart for the second half of the campaign.

A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that the terms of Brewster's loan are agreed and he is set to head to Swansea after the club's FA Cup third-round tie against Everton on Sunday.

Klopp wants Brewster to be available to face his team's Merseyside rivals as he prepares to rest many of his senior stars this weekend.

The likes of Brewster, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones come into the reckoning to face Everton after Klopp barely rotated his key players during an exhausting programme in December and over the festive period.

Nevertheless, the Liverpool manager is eager for the England Under-17 World Cup winner to get regular game time after making just two senior appearances for his club.

The source explained that Brewster's relationship with Swans manager Steve Cooper played a big part in sealing the deal after they worked so successfully together for England's age-group global winner.

The 40-year-old was in charge of the Young Lions for their World Cup-winning campaign back in 2017, when Brewster finished the competition as top scorer with eight goals.
