Sources: Lokonga agrees personal terms with Arsenal as two deals edge closer
Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Anderlecht midfielder Sambi Lokonga as negotiations intensify for two new signings.
The London giants are working to finalise a deal for Lokonga, 21, as well as that of Brighton defender Ben White.
An Arsenal source has told Football Insider that Lokonga is the most advanced of the two big-money deals and he has accepted the club’s contract offer.
The Gunners are negotiating a fee with Anderlecht as they look to exploit their cash troubles.
An opening bid of £13million was rejected but Arsenal hope add-ons can take the fee to a level acceptable to the Belgian club.
A deal for White will be considerably more expensive and an offer of £40m has already been knocked back by Brighton.

But Arsenal have not been put off and are hopeful they can agree a deal this window, especially as the England man has made it clear he is keen to join.
White has been targeted to stiffen the defence, with Lokonga is wanted to strengthen the midfield.
He has been tracked by the Gunners for a long time and is regarded as a player capable of making a big impact in the Premier League.
Lokonga did not make the highly competitive Belgium squad for this summer’s Euros, although he is on the stand-by list.
But he has already amassed considerable experience in the Belgian top division and was promoted to captain of his club last season.
Lokonga already has played 78 times for Anderlecht, predominantly as a defensive midfielder although he can operate higher up the pitch.
Arsenal are in the market for midfield reinforcements to replace Granit Xhaka, who is close to joining Roma, and 2020-21 loanee Dani Ceballos.
