Brendan Rodgers has no interest in a potential return to Celtic, sources have told Football Insider.

The northern Irishman has been linked with a sensational return to Parkhead were in-demand Ange Postecoglou to be lured to a Premier League club, or top European outfit, this summer.

But it is believed that Rodgers, 50, is not looking to go back to Celtic for a second spell.

He has fond memories of his two-and-a-half years at the Glasgow giants, where he won seven domestic trophies out of seven and took the team to new heights.

However, Rodgers feels he has nothing to prove at Celtic and is instead targeting a new Premier League job in the summer.

He is set to be sounded out by Tottenham, who are undertaking an extensive new manager search, among many other potential candidates.

Intriguingly, one of those is Postecoglou, who has impressed Premier League clubs with his development of a Celtic side on course for a second consecutive league title.

Other top-flight jobs are set to become available in the coming months as the managerial merry-go-round continues.

Rodgers was relieved of his duties at the King Power Stadium on Sunday (2 April) off the back of a string of poor results that culminated in a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace the day before he was sacked.

Celtic

The Northern Irishman became one of the most successful managers in the club's history during his four year tenure.

Not only did he lead the side to two of the club's three highest Premier League finishes, but also their first FA Cup victory in 2021 and well as their first European semi-final in 2022.
