Sources: Major update on Tottenham bid to sign Souttar after Nuno’s Wolves raid

Nuno Espirito Santo is keen on luring Harry Souttar to Tottenham after trying to land him when he was at Wolves, Football Insider has learned.

Spurs are in the race to sign the 22-year-old amid competition from the likes of Aston Villa and Everton.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that manager Nuno is a big fan of Souttar and previously sanctioned a move for him when he was in charge of Wolves.

This site revealed on 14 October that Spurs are one of a number of Premier League sides tracking the 6ft 5in centre-back ahead of the January window.

The London giants have sent scouts to watch him on multiple occasions this season.

Souttar put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at the bet365 stadium in February of this year.

That deal runs until the end of June 2025.

The centre-half has established himself as a key part of Michael O’Neill’s side since the beginning of last season.

He has started 13 of their 14 Championship fixtures in the 2021-22 campaign.

Souttar’s performances have attracted the attention of multiple Premier League clubs.

The Potters are aware of interest from Spurs, Villa and Everton and are braced to receive bids in January.

A move for Souttar would see Spurs enter the Championship defender market for the second time in 18 months.

The London club signed Joe Rodon from Swansea in a £15million deal last October.
