Sources: Man City lay groundwork for 'astonishing' Kane bid as latest big-money exit done and four more on the way
Man City are laying the groundwork for a sensational new bid for Tottenham star Harry Kane with a blizzard of big-money sales, Football Insider understands.
The Premier League champions are working intently to follow up their club-record £100million Jack Grealish with a Kane offer that could rocket towards £150m including add-ons.
That would not be too far off the new £160m valuation placed on the England captain by his club Tottenham as the possibility of a late-window transfer increases.
A City source has told Football Insider that an "astonishing" bid for Kane is being lined up as they simultaneously work on clearing the decks and trimming the wage bill.
The club have already raised £60m from sales of young and fringe players this summer, with the latest being the the £8.5 million sale on Thursday of Ivan Ilic to Hellas Verona, where he spent last season on loan.
City are also set to sell Yangel Herrera, Pedro Porro and Morgan Rogers for significant fees this month.
Intriguingly, a fourth big-money sale could also be finalised with Bernardo Silva and Aymeric Laporte, each valued at over £50m, the most likely.
Those transfers would go some way to funding the British-record capture of Grealish and then Kane, which would be one of the most expensive anywhere in the world.
Kane has been training alone at Spurs' training ground this week after returning from holiday in Florida and having to self-isolate.

Kane's deep desire to leave the club where he has spent his whole career has been cemented by a summer away with the national team.
