Sources: Man United plotting to sign Benjamin Sesko with summer move already agreed
Man United are keeping tabs on Benjamin Sesko in their hunt for a number nine, sources have told Football Insider.
Erik ten Hag’s side are considering a move for Sesko ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old’s current deal at RB Salzburg runs until 2026 but he has already agreed to join sister club RB Leipzig for around £21million in the summer.
But, according to ESPN (9 January), a big bid from another club could change the trajectory of Sesko’s career.
Old Trafford is seen as the perfect destination for the striker given Ten Hag’s track record of nurturing young talent at Ajax.
The Slovenia international has made 18 league appearances for the Austrian outfit this season and has scored six goals and provided three assists during those outings.

The Red Devils are in the hunt for a prolific number nine in the summer window, despite signing Wout Weghorst on loan last month.
The Burnley striker is viewed as a stop gap solution for the remainder of the season and Football Insider revealed (21 February) that United don’t plan to complete a permanent deal for the forward.
United have also been linked with a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane as well as Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as they look to strengthen their attacking options for next season.
Anthony Martial is Erik ten Hag’s current second choice striker and has made just nine Premier League appearances after returning from a loan spell at Sevilla in the summer.
His current contract at Old Trafford runs until 2024 and includes the option to extend by a further 12 months.
