Sources: Man United put two big names loved by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer up for sale

Man United are prepared to sell Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Red Devils are in the market for a new centre-back but Erik ten Hag wants a clearout of his current defenders in order to make space for summer arrivals.

Football Insider sources revealed on Friday (17 March) that Man United are preparing a £143m swoop for Napoli duo Victor Osimhen and Kim Min-Jae this summer.

It is understood that Kim is United’s first-choice defensive target this summer, with the Red Devils frequently scouting the 26-year-old this season.

Maguire and Lindelof have both fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford under Ten Hag, with the Dutchman preferring the partnership of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

Despite captaining the club, Maguire has made just 23 appearances for a total of 1,086 minutes this season, while Lindelof has been limited to 1,397 minutes in 21 appearances.

It’s a stark contrast from their regular starts under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s stewardship – Maguire and Lindelof were often the Norwegian’s first-choice centre-back duo.

In the 2020/21 season, Solskjaer handed Maguire 52 appearances, while Lindelof followed closely behind with 45.

However, Ten Hag is willing to let both leave for the correct price tag this summer as he continues his rebuild at Old Trafford.

West Ham have shown interest in signing Maguire this season, while Lindelof could be used as part of a remarkable swap deal.

Football Insider sources revealed on Thursday (16 March) that Man United could seal a swap deal with Inter Milan involving Lindelof and Denzel Dumfries.
