Sources: Man United training ground abuzz with box-office signing talk
Man United are going “all out” to prise Harry Kane from Tottenham this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Erik ten Hag has identified an A-list centre-forward as his number one priority for United in the main window and sights are firmly set on the England superstar.
It is believed that United are willing to spend a huge sum on a new striker and won’t be put off by what will be a Kane price tag of £100m, and potentially even higher.
The word from United’s Carrington training ground is that the club are going “all out” for Kane, sources say, and will only turn to other forwards on their short list if there is no way Spurs will let him go or an agreement can’t be reached with the player.
Ten Hag and his coaching staff regard the Tottenham record scorer as the perfect number nine for their system and see him as a major upgrade on their current options.
Anthony Martial is struggling with injury, loanee Wout Weghorst only signed on until the end of the season and is not expected to join permanently while player of the year contender Marcus Rashford is more comfortable operating on the left flank.

United have three other strikers on their list of targets – Victor Osimhen, Tammy Abraham and Benjamin Sesko.
Kane’s current contract expires in the summer of 2024, and Football Insider understands Tottenham are trying to extend his deal.
But the club could be forced to cash in during the upcoming window with the forward turning 30 in July
Kane was a top target for Man City in the summer of 2021, but a move never came to fruition after Spurs rejected a package worth £100m in total from the Premier League champions.
