Sources: Man United willing to agree £30m Kovacic deal
Man United are weighing up a bid for Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Red Devils are in the market for a new central midfielder, with Erik ten Hag keen to add more depth and quality to his squad after a successful start to his tenure at Old Trafford.
Football Insider sources revealed on Friday (12 May) that United are keeping tabs on Kovacic’s situation at Stamford Bridge.
The 29-year-old Croatia international is entering the last year of his contract with the Blues and is considering his future at the London club.
Chelsea may look to sell Kovacic this summer to avoid losing him for free when his deal expires in 2024.
It is understood that Chelsea made contact with Kovacic over a new deal, but negotiations between the two parties stalled and no future plans are on the horizon.
