Sources: Mendes working on selling £17m-valued Wolves star as Spanish club in advanced talks
Atletico Madrid are in advanced talks to sign Wolves striker Rafa Mir, Football Insider has learned.
The Spanish champions have been working on a deal for the 24-year-old after his impressive loan spell at Huesca last term.
A Wolves source has told Football Insider that the club have discussed various options, including a permanent sale, a loan or a loan-to-buy.
The Midlands club want £17m for Mir after he scored 13 league goals from 38 matches last season.
Wolves consultant Jorge Mendes represents Mir and the expectation of all parties is that he will leave Molineux by 31 August.
The 24-year-old has only just returned to the Midlands after helping Spain win a silver medal at the Olympics in Tokyo.

Bruno Lage revealed on 14 August, via Express & Star, he was set for talks with Mir over his future upon his return.
He could now return to his homeland after two-and-a-half years on Wolves’ books.
Mir played four times for the club in January 2018 but has not featured since.
Instead, the striker has spent temporary spells with Las Palmas and Nottingham Forest as well as Huesca.
Wolves have already loaned out striker Patrick Cutrone to Empoli this summer.
However, Raul Jimenez made his return to action in their Premier League opener to Leicester City at the weekend.
It was the 30-year-old’s first competitive game since he fractured his skull against Arsenal last November.
