Sources: MK Dons, Cheltenham and Crewe Alexandra race to sign West Brom rising star Ethan Ingram

MK Dons, Cheltenham and Crewe Alexandra are racing to sign West Brom rising star Ethan Ingram, sources have told Football Insider.

The EFL trio have registered their interest in taking the right-back, 19, on loan for the new season.

Ingram is highly rated at the Hawthorns and he made his first-team debut in the League Cup against Arsenal last season.

He also impressed for West Brom’s Under-23s side in the Premier League 2 last season, where he scored six goals in 24 games.

Ingram, who was a substitute in the Championship on three occasions last term, was also part of the Baggies youth side which lifted the PL Cup after a penalty shoot-out win over Wolves in May.

The former England Under-18 international is under contract at The Hawthorns until June 2024.

Long-serving star Darnell Furlong, 26, and fellow starlet Taylor Gardner-Hickman, 20, have both blocked Ingram from making his Championship bow.

However, the youngster remains highly thought of in the set-up at West Brom – who will be keen for him to cut his teeth with a loan move this season.

Ingram has also played at centre-back and in defensive midfield during his youth development with the Baggies.

Steve Bruce’s side have moved for John Swift, Jayson Molumby, Jed Wallace, and Okay Yokuslu this summer in an attempt to return to the top flight at the second time of asking.

Cheltenham and MK Dons will play in League One this term, while Crewe were relegated to the fourth tier last term.
