Sources: Newcastle United submit £18m bid for Jack Harrison

Newcastle United have submitted a bid of around £18million for Leeds United winger Jack Harrison, sources have told Football Insider.

The north-east giants have turned their attention to landing the 25-year-old as they try to sign a wide forward.

Leeds have a decision to make on whether to offload Harrison following an extensive summer signing spree.

They have already sold star duo Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips to Barcelona and Man City.

As relayed by the Yorkshire Evening Post on Sunday (17 July), Harrison was asked about his future and responded “we’ll see what happens”.

Jesse Marsch insisted, via the BBC on Wednesday (20 July), that his player had “unintentionally brought attention” to his situation but confirmed their had been interest in him.

Harrison was described as a “phenomenal” signing by ex-Leeds star Noel Whelan to Football Insider last year when he completed a permanent move from City

He only has two years left on his contract at Elland Road after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal last summer.

Before that, he had spent the previous three seasons on loan at Leeds from Man City.

The former England Under-21 international has racked up 161 appearances across all competitions for the Whites, scoring 22 goals and providing 28 assists.

In the Premier League, he has found the net 16 times and chipped in with a further nine assists in 71 games.

Newcastle United have bolstered their defence this summer with the signings of Sven Botman, Matt Targett and goalkeeper Nick Pope.

Attention has now turned to the other end of the pitch as they look to improve on their 11th-place finish in 2021-22.
