Norwich are considering a late move to re-sign former loan star Jordan Rhodes, Football Insider understands.
Rhodes spent last season on loan at Norwich, scoring nine goals in all competitions as the Canaries won promotion to the Premier League.
A Norwich source has told Football Insider that the club has been weighing up all summer whether to sign Rhodes on a permanent basis.
However, they could face competition for his signature with other Championship sides said to be interested in the prolific forward before the transfer window closes.
Rhodes, who is entering the final year of his contract at Wednesday, was an unused substitute for Saturday’s opening day win at Reading and he is unlikely to be presented with too many first-team opportunities at Hillsborough this season.
The 29-year-old goal machine enjoyed his most prolific seasons with Blackburn, scoring 26 in 43 in the 12/13 Championship, 25 in 46 the following season and 21 in 45 in the 14/15 campaign.
The last two seasons have seen him register five league goals in 31 for Sheffield Wednesday and six league goals in 36 for Norwich.
In other Norwich City news, the club is plotting a late raid to sign Watford senior ace ahead of Premier League rivals.
