Norwich City have joined Leeds United and Rangers in the chase for Colombian attacker Santiago Moreno, Football Insider understands.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider Norwich and Southampton have registered their interest in the America de Cali winger.

It is understood the Premier League new boys have identified Moreno as a potential replacement for Emiliano Buendia.

Moreno is an explosive forward who can play on either wing or as a centre-forward and has been likened to Liverpool star Sadio Mane.

He is valued at the £5million mark by America de Cali.

The fleet-footed attacker still has two years left on his contract with the Colombian outfit.

Encouragingly for his suitors, he would be granted Governing Body Endorsement (“GBE”) as he has featured in the Copa Libertadores.

It is the highest level of competition in south American club football and is demonstrative of his pedigree despite his age.

He has scored twice in six Copa Libertadores appearances this season.

Meanwhile, he has netted four goals and contributed four assists in 16 Colombian top-flight games.

Norwich are preparing for a return to the Premier League after winning the Championship by six points.

Buendia played a key role in the Canaries' success, chipping in with 15 goals and 17 assists in 39 appearances.
