Plymouth Argyle and Burton Albion are lining up January moves for Halifax Town defender Tom Bradbury, Football Insider understands.

The 6ft 3in centre-back has caught the eye of a number of Football League clubs following his impressive form this season.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that League One duo Plymouth and Burton know they might be able to land Bradbury for a cut-price fee in January.

The 23-year-old is out of contract next summer.

He has started all but one of Halifax’s National League games this season and has captained the side on occasion.

The Shaymen sit in fifth having lost just three of their opening 14 league games.

Bradbury moved to the West Yorkshire outfit from fellow National League side Yeovil Town in the summer of 2020.

He began his career with MK Dons before dropping into non-league with Bishop’s Stortford.

His 67 appearances in England’s fifth-tier have yielded six goals.

The Englishman also had a brief spell with Dundee in 2018 but did not make a first-team appearance.

Plymouth Argyle are flying high in League One at the moment under Ryan Lowe.

They are currently second, a point behind early leaders Wigan Athletic.

Burton are down in 11th after narrowly avoiding relegation to League Two last season.

Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink’s men lost to Wigan at the weekend and face Wycombe next Tuesday, who are currently in the play-off positions.

In other news, the Premier League have been inundated with calls from clubs raging about an Aston Villa player.
