Rangers, Southampton and Watford are chasing Leuven goal machine Thomas Henry, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The striker, 26, has further enhanced his reputation among suitors with three goals in the opening three matches of the Belgian league season.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Henry is on the radar of Champions League hopefuls Rangers as well as Premier League duo Southampton and Watford.

He had been a target for Swansea City before Steve Cooper’s departure last month.

On the Continent, Henry also has interest from Gent along with Serie A new boys Venezia and Bordeaux.

The French forward has a contract at Leuven that runs until the summer of 2023 after signing an extension in January of last year.

But that is unlikely to be enough to put off the chasing pack ahead of the transfer window shutting at the end of this month.

Henry was already a target for leading sides after his impressive 2020-21 campaign, which yielded 21 goals and seven assists from 33 matches in all competitions.

But that interest has been intensified after he raced out of the starting blocks in the new campaign.

His goals in each of Leuven's three league fixtures - all 1-1 draws - have come against Zulte Waregem, Cercle Brugge and RSC Charleroi.

Henry has an outstanding record at Belgian top-tier outfit Leuven, where he has scored 45 times in 78 appearances as well as supplied 12 assists.
