RB Leipzig are plotting a £10million-plus swoop to sign Liverpool teen ace Rafael Camacho after he rejected a new contract, Football Insider understands.

A Leipzig has told Football Insider that the German big hitters are eager to beat Camacho's suitors, who include Sporting Lisbon and clubs from Spain and France, to his signature this summer.

The third-placed Bundesliga club are weighing up a eight-figure move for the player as the likelihood grows that he will be made available for sale in the forthcoming window.

Camacho took to his personal Instagram account last week to complain that the Liverpool coaching staff have been using him out of position by playing in a defensive role.

The rising star has made two first-team appearances, one apiece in the Premier League and FA Cup, both of which were in the less familiar position of right-back.

But the player insisted after scoring a hat-trick for the Liverpool Under-23s in a 6-0 demolition of Leicester City that he is "an attacker who scores goals".

Camacho has an outstanding record for the youth team this season, scoring 12 goals and supplying eight assists from just 19 appearances.

Camacho came close to joining Sporting Lisbon on loan in January but, as revealed by Football Insider, Klopp blocked the transfer because he wanted him to stay in the first team squad.
