Sources: Reading agree to sign ex-Crystal Palace star Dann
Reading have agreed to sign Scott Dann after his exit from Crystal Palace, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The experienced Premier League campaigner has been a free agent since his contract at Selhurst Park expired at the end of June.
A Reading source has told Football Insider that the club have agreed terms with Dann, 34, and he is set to sign ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.
The former Blackburn Rovers star is expected to put pen to paper on a one-year deal.
A move to the second tier would follow in the footsteps of Dann’s former Eagles teammate Gary Cahill, who joined Bournemouth earlier in the window.
Dann played 15 times in the Premier League for Palace last term.

His Selhurst Park release brought an end to an seven-year spell in south London.
The centre-half made 181 total appearances for Palace and finished with an impressive 16 goals.
Impressive spells at Walsall and Coventry City earned Dann a £3.5million move to Birmingham City in 2009.
He was integral to the club’s victorious League Cup campaign in the 2010-11 season, despite missing the final through injury.
A three-season spell at Blackburn followed before Dann moved to Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee in 2014.
Reading have made a number of impressive additions following the departures of highly-rated talents Michael Olise and Omar Richards.
Alen Halilovic and Junior Hoilett have joined for free, while Abdul-Rahman Baba and Tom Dele-Bashiru will spend this season on loan at the Madjeski Stadium.
However, Reading have won just one of their six fixtures this season and sit 21st in the Championship table.
