Sources: Southampton star Obafemi rejects Blackburn Rovers transfer
Southampton striker Michael Obafemi has turned down a potential move to Blackburn Rovers, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Saints are willing to offload the striker, 21, following the capture of Adam Armstrong from Rovers.
But an industry source has told Football Insider that Obafemi has rejected the chance to swap clubs with Armstrong.
Rovers have cash to spend after securing a £15million fee for Armstrong earlier this week.
They had targeted Obafemi as a potential replacement for the Newcastle-born hitman.
However, despite being made available by Southampton, the Ireland under-21 international has snubbed a move to Ewood Park.

The academy graduate is into the final year of the contract he signed back in 2019.
It remains to be seen whether he will stay at St Mary’s past the end of the summer transfer window.
He played just four times in the Premier League last season, with Danny Ings and Che Adams ahead in the pecking order.
However, Ings has since joined Premier League rivals Aston Villa, hence Armstrong’s arrival.
Obafemi has a total of 38 appearances, five goals and four assists under his belt for Southampton’s senior side.
He was identified by Blackburn as a young player who could make the grade in the Championship.
However, it appears Rovers will have to move on to other targets to replace Armstrong.
The Newcastle United academy graduate scored 28 goals in 40 appearances for the north west outfit last season.
He netted 56 times in 186 Championship games, while he already has 15 Premier League outings under his belt.
