Tottenham have agreed a fee with Borussia Mochengladbach for the transfer of Keanan Bennetts, Football Insider can reveal.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Bennetts cleared his locker at Tottenham's Enfield training ground on Tuesday and will make the move to Germany as soon as the transfer window opens later this week.

The left footer, who can also fill in at left-back, signed a new contract at Spurs last December to replace his existing deal, which was due to expire this summer.

This will enable Spurs to maximise the fee for the transfer of a player for whom they had high hopes could graduate from the youth team into the senior side.

Bennetts has had an outstanding 2017-18 campaign for the club's Under-23s, scoring nine goals and supplying eight assists in 32 games in all competitions for Spurs to catch the eye of Mauricio Pochettino.

However, Monchengladbach have moved in to offer Bennetts a quicker pathway to first-team football and they are expected to finalise a deal in the coming days.
