Sources: Tottenham line up Calum Logan deal after pre-contract signed

Tottenham are plotting a move to sign Ipswich Town starlet Calum Logan, sources have told Football Insider.

The defender, 16, has come through the ranks at Portman Road and is regarded as a youngster of great promise.

Tottenham are looking to bolster their academy ranks after already signing pre-contract terms with Man City teenager Herbie James.

The Londoners are also admirers of England Under-17 international Logan and have registered their interest in a potential deal.

He made his first appearances at international level in November 2022 after turning heads with his performances at Ipswich.

The centre-back was a regular starter for the Tractor Boys in their run to the FA Youth Cup quarter-final – where he was sent off in an eventual loss against West Ham.

Tottenham’s agreement with Man City starlet James, 16, reportedly came after they fought off interest from Premier League clubs Everton and Wolves.

Spurs bolstered their Under-18 side with the signing of Sheffield United striker Will Lankshear last summer (2022), and will pay a reported potential fee of £2million for his services.

The current crop of youngsters at Hotspur Way will be hoping to be the latest talent to make the grade in the club’s first team.

Oliver Skipp, Japhet Tanganga, Dane Scarlett and Troy Parrott are among the stars to graduate from the well-regarded academy setup at Tottenham.

Spurs sit fourth in the Premier League and face Everton next Monday (3 April) in their first game since sacking Antonio Conte.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (28 March) that Tottenham have made contact with Julian Nagelsmann’s representatives following his sacking at Bayern Munich.

Christian Stellini and Ryan Mason have been placed in charge of the side until the end of the season.
