Tottenham are plotting a move to sign Lyon forward Maxwel Cornet this summer, Football Insider can reveal.

The Londoners are targeting a right-sided attacker who can score and create goals and has the potential to improve under Mauricio Pochettino.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider that Cornet, 22, is on their radar following his excellent second half of the season at Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.

He scored four goals and laid on three others in his final four league games of the season to end the campaign with 10 goals and five assists from 35 appearances.

He also put Manchester City to the sword in the Champions League, scoring three times in two matches against them in this season's group stages.

Cornet's goals-per-minutes ratio was especially impressive as he was a substitute in 15 of his 26 league appearances before re-establishing himself as a regular in recent months.

The Ivory Coast international has a fine record at Lyon since signing from Metz in the summer of 2015 and was part of a thrilling attack last season alongside Moussa Dembele, Memphis Depay and Nabil Fekir.

In other Spurs news, it can be REVEALED that the club have secured a jawdropping £230million windfall.
