Sources: Tottenham tell rising star Pedder to find a new club

Tottenham have told starlet Rafferty Pedder he is free to find a new club, Football Insider has learned.

The midfielder, 19, has been informed by the Premier League giants he is being released when his contract expires at the end of the season.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider that the club have granted Pedder permission to trial at rival clubs.

It is a surprise move from the Londoners, given that they announced on their website in late July that Pedder was one of three starlets who had signed their first professional contracts with the club.

Along with midfielder Kallum Cesay and goalkeeper Kacper Kurylowicz, Pedder signed a one-year deal running until the summer of 2022.

It emerged earlier this week that the development squad midfielder has been training with QPR.

He featured for the Championship club in an Under-23s match against Blackburn Rovers in a match won 1-0 thanks to a goal from striker Charlie Kelman.

Pedder is the latest in a long line of Tottenham talents to make the journey from north to west London.

Aramide Oteh and Charlie Owens both joined QPR after starting at Tottenham, and Jonathan Dinzeyi joined QPR on trial from Spurs last year.

It remains to be seen if Pedder can secure a contract with QPR or if he goes on to trial with other clubs.

The Maidstone-born youngster has struggled for game time for Tottenham Under-23s this season, making just three sub appearances in their 11 Premier League 2 fixtures.
